I know, I'm posting a lot today. I finally get internet on Saturday (unless Comcast yanks the carrot I've been following for months), so I'm warming up to the onslaught of blogging I'll be doing and you'll be receiving.

A Shout-Out To Mah Homies

Dudes, I just got off the phone with GoDaddy, the lovely hosts and purveyors of my "official" (but, uh, under construction) website It's Courtney McLean! Or www.courtneymclean.com for the layman. Does anyone else use GoDaddy? Aren't they so freakin' nice? And helpful and awesome? It just gave me warm fuzzies talking to Nick (but first a really sweet gal in the billing department who kindly, and successfully in one shot, transferred me to Nick). Nick totally knew exactly what he was doing and even upgraded my email to 1GB!! Which I suppose I could have done myself, but for some reason, I was fine suffering with the 10MB. That's right - TEN MEGABYTES. Brett Jackson, please continue to be my friend after that bonehead move. Why do I continue to let myself suffer with mediocre technological connections?

I called the GD because I wanted to cancel my hosting account with them. That's right - I am merging The Brash Lion Roars and Courtney McLean.com. Soon, you will go to www.courtneymclean.com and it will bring you right back here! WHA? I know, CRAZY! It's like the universe is folding up on itself. Now if I could just get some sweet HTML up in here. Soon, soon, my pets. Very very soon. I'm especially inspired by Mike Fotis' blog/website. So many pages! And it all looks so easy! Mike makes everything look easy! Even being cool, though I know he toils over it like a witch over a human stew. I'm kidding, of course, it's totally effortless. Fucking Fotis.

Anyway, GoDaddy. I love 'em. They even call me every so often to make sure I'm satisfied with my service. Okay, it kinda bugs me, but it's nice to know they care.

That title is intended to be said in a "wait for me" sense, which I should just say is non-sexual because I guess both those phrases could technically be sexual. EYE ROLL. Damn, someone needs to get laid. Yeah, I'm talking about YOU.

My point is, after, oh, 8 months of being in my freaking apartment, momma is finally getting herself some internets in her abode. So, I will be coming all over the computer. I MEAN -

I will be blogging more. Patience, friends. I do have a day job. Man, that excuse never gets tired!

Blog O' Da Week!

Here's a new feature I just made up on TBLR: Blog O' Da Week! Why the shortened "of" and bastardization of "The" and exclamation point? WHY THE FART NOT, PEOPLE??

So, first off, I discovered this artistic awesomeness through 'Skineart, another favorite blog. But I wanted to bring to attention a particular artist that I'm just getting to know and absolutely adore: Susan Rudat.

I want her stuff tattooed on me! I just love the linework and the 3D stuff's effect, though I'm sure is simple to do by just using a gray prismacolor or something, is incredible. Sometimes she does some stuff that borders on Mary Engelbreit, but there's a part of me that doesn't mind so much.

Oh, I just saw that the 3D stuff is actually pop-up art, but hey, it inspired the prismacolor idea, so that's something! Rudat is not the most cutting-edge artist I've seen, but I just really connect with her work. And it's not about what's cool in art, it's about how it makes you feel.

Sweet Vindication

I don't really blog about my work(s), but my mother seems to think that I participate in things that I shouldn't post on the internet in the interest of keeping myself employable. I always retort with "I don't want to work for those squares anyway!" And come on, I only live an adventurously debaucherous life on the fringe if you're a total prude. Because I'm pretty prudish myself.

But Dooce just posted this awesome story (bottom 1/3 of the post) about running into the VPs of the company that fired her for blogging about work, right after she just cleaned up at the Bloggie Awards.

Heather B. Armstrong, you're an inspiration to us all.

Look Ma, I'm A Real Live Blogger!

Some of them are "cheater" posts like this one, as in, I don't say much (although with blogging these days being the short attention span magnet it is, maybe it's not cheating, it's just the way to do it. Too bad I'm too long-winded for that). But I'm proud to announce that this is my 34th post this month. By the end of it (the month), I will most likely have posted more entries than the entirety of 2004. Sweet!
