Blog O' Da Week!

Here's a new feature I just made up on TBLR: Blog O' Da Week! Why the shortened "of" and bastardization of "The" and exclamation point? WHY THE FART NOT, PEOPLE??

So, first off, I discovered this artistic awesomeness through 'Skineart, another favorite blog. But I wanted to bring to attention a particular artist that I'm just getting to know and absolutely adore: Susan Rudat.

I want her stuff tattooed on me! I just love the linework and the 3D stuff's effect, though I'm sure is simple to do by just using a gray prismacolor or something, is incredible. Sometimes she does some stuff that borders on Mary Engelbreit, but there's a part of me that doesn't mind so much.

Oh, I just saw that the 3D stuff is actually pop-up art, but hey, it inspired the prismacolor idea, so that's something! Rudat is not the most cutting-edge artist I've seen, but I just really connect with her work. And it's not about what's cool in art, it's about how it makes you feel.

Glove's Lost Love

What a dumb title. My excuse is that I've actually got a project to do at work (boo!), so I can only make this a short post, though I've got a few things to talk about throughout the course of the day. I can't be hemming and hawing over a frakin' title. My friend Nichelle turned me on to One Cold Hand? - a website for missing gloves in Pittsburgh! I feel like Minneapolis has got to have one of these. I would start it if not, but do I really care enough? I'm pretty good with my gloves, aside from the pair I lost a couple of months ago.


Addendum: Damn! I'm barely two weeks late.
