It doesn't seem to matter what the economy, Arts always suffer first.

Meet me at Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis on Friday, Dec. 19 @ 5:30pm.

Thank you so much for showing your support! It is exactly this kind of community response that will see Intermedia Arts through this tough time. Right now, everything single action you take helps—for real. At a time like this, absolutely every action counts. This is grassroots community activism in action. Please help us mobilize the community!

Here's what we need you to do next:

Will you bring five people with you to the Rally this Friday? Will you get ten people to donate $10 this week? Will you email us with your response to all of this, and ask someone else to do the same? We need you to help us mobilize the community!

Ask them to:

1. RSVP now. We need everyone here for Intermedia Arts’ Community Townhall: Rally the People! at 5:30PM on Friday, December 19th. We are asking the community to make it a priority to be here, in person. We need EVERYONE to rally with us as we design our future together. RSVP online: http://www.intermediaarts.org/updates.php

2. Make a donation. Support of Intermedia Arts is critical right now, and every dollar counts. We need your support to help us with our general operating expenses as we implement our plan for long-term sustainability. This isn’t about keeping Intermedia Arts open for another month; this is about keeping Intermedia Arts in our community for the long-term. Right now, our future depends on you. We need you to make a donation today: http://www.intermediaarts.org/donate/

3: Email us. We need to hear your thoughts, your ideas, your commitment of support, your encouragement, your suggestions and feelings. Send us your questions, tell us what you think, and look to our website for updates, responses, community FAQs, and news each and every step of the way. Email: community@intermediaarts.org.

Blog O' Da Week!

Here's a new feature I just made up on TBLR: Blog O' Da Week! Why the shortened "of" and bastardization of "The" and exclamation point? WHY THE FART NOT, PEOPLE??

So, first off, I discovered this artistic awesomeness through 'Skineart, another favorite blog. But I wanted to bring to attention a particular artist that I'm just getting to know and absolutely adore: Susan Rudat.

(Red Line & Raindrops)

I want her stuff tattooed on me! I just love the linework and the 3D stuff's effect, though I'm sure is simple to do by just using a gray prismacolor or something, is incredible. Sometimes she does some stuff that borders on Mary Engelbreit, but there's a part of me that doesn't mind so much.

Oh, I just saw that the 3D stuff is actually pop-up art, but hey, it inspired the prismacolor idea, so that's something! Rudat is not the most cutting-edge artist I've seen, but I just really connect with her work. And it's not about what's cool in art, it's about how it makes you feel.

Susan Rudat.
