My co-worker just brought me back a lunch from some free lunch thing at a campus dining hall and it included Cutlery Made from Potato!!
Used at the University of Minnesota Morris dining halls, SpudWare (TM) is Excellent Packing & Supply Company's top of the line biodegradable cutlery. Made from potato starch and soy oil, spudware is attractive and withstands heat of up to 212 degrees F!!

Does anyone know anymore about this stuff? I'm always wary of new things like this even though our old alternatives are much worse, but is it like that corn gas that isn't as good as they make it out to be?
And if you just eat salt with these utensils, will eat be like eating a french fry?
